Accounting Manager

Emma was extremely helpful in finding my first contract role. Emma helped tremendously with the whole process of setting up my company and getting my first contract, which I was so glad for the help as it is quite daunting the first time around. If you’re looking for your next role and want to talk with a friendly, honest, professional consultant give Emma a call.

Network Security Engineer, London, £55K to £65K + Package

Network Security Engineer, London, £55,000 to £65,00 + Benefits

InfoSec People are searching for a Network Security Engineer to join a highly talented security team which use the latest technologies.

This business operates to extremely high standards, so we're looking for individuals who take pride in creating robust, secure solutions that keep attackers out. As the sole dedicated Network Security Engineer in an information security team, your role will be to remotely configure, maintain and monitor secure networks across the globe. The role has a broad scope, requiring you to take responsibility for training users, reducing the attack surface, patch management, SIEM monitoring and investigations, secure telephony, firewall management and user training.

For a relatively small business, the team uses a great deal of cutting-edge technology; their solutions are at the enterprise level across multiple, international sites for a small number of private user groups. Tools-wise, you will have everything you need at your disposal, but this is not a structured, corporate environment, so we expect you to be not just technically competent, but also able to operate under your own direction and creatively solve technical issues.

The Role

Two tightly connected areas - networking and security. As the Network Security Engineer, you will have the opportunity to take pride in managing the robust and reliability of the networks. Within this part of the role you will extensively use switches and next generation UTM firewalls. Your involvement with the highly resilient network infrastructure is crucial to the operation.

Security knowledge is a vital part to this role and your interest outside of work, keeping up to date with current news and new ways to be secure, will only benefit your role as the Network Security Engineer. Proactively looking for gaps in the protection and having a defensive mind set will be an integrity part of your work. If you thrive on spotting irregularities, investigating suspicious activity, threat hunting or that needle in the haystack that you just feel is there - this is the business to join.

Requirements & Desirables

* Solid understanding of networking concepts, IP addressing, and VLANs. Configuring switches; any Cisco Catalyst or Nexus experience is desirable
* Exposure to a wide range of security devices, tools and concepts (I.e. VPNs, IPS, Syslog)
* Experience of network performance and security monitoring, ideally with a commercial SIEM
* Configuring firewall rules, and ideally UTM security policies
* Must have a proactive mentality, reliable and strong attention to detail
* Need to take responsibility for own learning and direction, including keeping up to date with modern threats and high-profile breaches
