Cyber Security Consultant, Edinburgh, £60-65k + package

InfoSec People, the cyber security recruitment experts, are seeking a Cyber Security Consultant on behalf of a major cyber security consultancy.

Embedded on site with a large financial services business, this role would be a dream move for a SOC Analyst seeking a broader, more consultancy-based role outside of a traditional MSSP SOC. You will be leading the delivery of security services and tools into an established customer SOC as part of a new, technically competent team.

Working alongside the customer's internal SOC capability and the SOC Manager, your focus will be on looking for ways to improve the protective monitoring function, SIEM and incident response efforts. This service is likely to evolve, encompassing threat intelligence and threat hunting services in future, alongside more generalist information security consultancy. You'll need to be on-site with the customer five days a week to begin with, although after 3-6 months we envision that you'll be able to carry out much of your work from home.

Duties & Responsibilities

* Deliver and mature an embedded SOC-support service to a major financial services client
* Manage the relationship with the SOC Manager and provide mentoring to SOC Analysts
* Be the main point of contact between your team and end user partners
* Optimise the SOC toolset, including the bespoke monitoring platform
* Provide meaningful reports and updates on service outcomes and risk mitigation
* Ensure that the service delivered
* On-board new services, such as threat intelligence and incident response to meet evolving changing requirements

Skills & Experience

* Experience of working within a cyber operations team or multi-tenant SOC
* Broad knowledge of cyber security tools, including SIEM, IDS/IPS and firewalls
* Deep understanding of the modern threat landscape
* Excellent face to face communication and reporting skills
* Ability to make technical issues simple and complex problems solvable

This is a permanent, full-time role based on customer site in Edinburgh from Monday to Friday 9-5 with the potential to work from home after an initial period. The salary will be £60-65k + corporate benefits package.
