SOC Analyst, Central London, £45-65k + package

SOC Analyst, London, £45-65k + package

InfoSec People, the cyber security recruitment experts, are seeking an experienced SOC Analyst for a newly established MSSP in Central London.

Working with a broad range of commercial clients, you will be providing protective monitoring, incident response and remediation advice using open source tools. This firm offer high quality monitoring, detection and remediation services, along with threat intelligence reports written in plain English. Their services are affordable to SMEs, whilst offering more than just 'logging and flogging' of events and tickets.

Customer stakeholders are mostly non-technical, so it follows that the culture here is one of openness and lacking in corporate jargon. They like their analysts to be great at spotting anomalies and to write sensible incident response playbooks, not rely purely on the capability of the SIEM. The team is also modest in size (with funding and plans to expend significantly), so it will be fast-paced and very varied as new customers come on board.

Duties & Responsibilities

* Proactive monitoring of customer assets using open source security tools
* Triage, investigation and remediation of malicious attacks and breaches
* Leading of the incident response process alongside customer stakeholders
* Production of high quality threat intelligence and statistical reports
* Opportunity to reverse engineer malware and remediate a wide range of infections
* Research and reporting on new vulnerabilities, breaches and threat actors

Skills & Experience Needed

* Previous experience of working in a commercial SOC or NOC environment
* Strong understanding of modern threats, attacks and mitigation techniques
* Knowledge of a wide range of open source security tools
* Strong Linux skills, ideally to sys admin level
* Keen problem-solving and anomaly detection mentality
* Scripting skills would be useful

This is a full time, permanent position based in Central London. The salary on offer is £45-65k + a great package and benefits. For more information and to apply, please send your CV and contact details to James Marklove, Lead Consultant at InfoSec People.
