Head of Information Technology - Cirencester
InfoSec People are looking for an experienced IT Manager/Head of Information Technology to join a small and trusted Financial Health Insurance Provider, based in Cirencester that not only delivers exceptional service to its members, but values and supports its personnel creating a positive and enjoyable working environment.
As a Head of Information Technology, you will oversee all IT functions in the business, lead a small team as well as manage technology operations and the implementation of new IT systems and policies. You will be managing all the IT projects, bespoke systems, IT services as well as delivering the long-term strategy and roadmap of the business. You will be confident and capable of ensuring IT systems and the IT team are effectively functioning within the limits of budget, time and specifications of the company.
·Oversee all technology operations (e.g. network security) and evaluate them according to established goals
·Preparing the IT Business Plan and 5-year roadmap/strategy
·Analyse the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs
·Managing suppliers and associate contracts for all IT services
·Purchase efficient and cost-effective technological equipment and software
·Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies
·Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency
·Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to upper management
·Control budget and report on expenditure
·Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts
·Carrying out performance reviews with all IT team members
·Proven experience of running an IT department
·Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
·Sound understanding of IT Security and IT risk management frameworks
·Experience in controlling information technology budget
·Excellent organisational and leadership skills
·Full life-cycle project management experience
·Vendor management including multiple 3rd party vendor and SLAs
·BSc/BA in computer science, engineering or relevant field; MSc/MA will be beneficial but not essential
·An understanding of Insurance or Financial Services industries desirable
·Experience of working in an Agile environment
