Chris Hosts Panel at Cheltenham's State Level Cyber Threats and Partnership Event
InfoSec People’s MD Chris Dunning-Walton recently hosted the panel discussion at the State-Level Cyber - Threats and Partnerships event in Cheltenham. Held by BPE Solicitors at the Cheltenham Ladies’ College, business leaders from around Gloucestershire were given a unique insight into the realities of a state-level cyber attack.
Chris was joined by a number of special guests of BPE Solicitors, including the current Ambassador of Estonia to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, H.E. Ms. Tiina Intelmann and the former Permanent Secretary of the Estonian Ministry of Defence, Lauri Almann, who together shared Estonia’s experience of suffering a state sponsored cyber-attack in 2007 and the lessons learned.
The discussion that Chris led, joined by Ben Aung, Steve Mason and Steve Borwell-Fox, looked at the regional cyber issues and how businesses can work together to help mitigate and reduce these risks; including a discussion around cyber attacks in foreign policy and the de-mystification of cyber and the ongoing challenges businesses face today.
Altogether a fantastic evening where business leaders were given a unique and fascinating insight into cyber security, further affirming Cheltenham as a hub for cyber security in the UK, full of knowledgeable individuals, great companies and exceptional cyber talent.
